The best cups of coffee contain the best selection of beans,
roasted with the best type of equipment, and stored in the best conditions. At
MF Coffee, that’s what we strive for, the best and the best only. We’ve already
established that the beans from the Jamaican Blue Mountains are the finest but there’s
a way to take full advantage of its powerful taste even more. With the correct
storage techniques, we at MF Coffee can aid you in maximising that much-needed
freshness and flavour for the best cup of coffee. By following these little
tips, you’ll be brewing much better cups in no time.
The first thing we must do is keep the beans airtight and
cool. It is imperative that we attempt to preserve the beans fresh roasted flavour for as long as
possible as the coffee beans’ greatest foes are light, moisture, heat, and air.
Luckily, at MF Coffee, our coffee is sealed in bronze airtight bags that aren’t
see through in order to minimise the exposure of any of the previous elements
that were just mentioned. Many retailers use packaging that is generally not
ideal for long-term storage hence why their coffee remains bland and MF Coffee’s
remains rich and tantalising. So yes, we’ve kept the beans airtight but how can we
keep them cool? Well, to keep your beans fresh they must be situated in a dark and
cool area. Too often I see people dumping their coffee in cupboards directly
next to ovens which completely goes against the agenda in trying to maintain coolness.
We advise in resting your beans at an elevated cupboard, in the corner furthest
away from the windows to avoid sunlight, and that pesky oven.
The next thing we should do, is NOT freeze our beans, that's right NOT freeze. I’ve read
hundreds of articles suggesting that to “maintain freshness” you must freeze
your beans. Guys, this is absurd and mustn’t be taken on at all. Here’s why. Coffee
is sort of like bread, if you leave bread half opened in the freezer and then
let it thaw out and eat it, it won’t possess the same taste as it did before. It’s
the same with coffee. And sometimes coffee can even be worse as it often
absorbs the flavours surrounding it. So, if you have garlic and onions in your freezer…
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your coffee isn’t going to be tasting very
nice. And don’t get me started with the fridge. The fridge is TERRIBLE
for coffee mainly because it causes the beans to condensate and push oils to
the surface. Oils needed for your coffee to be tasting pleasant! Is that what you
want? The fridge to ROB you of those essential oils needed to enjoy a nice cup
of MF coffee? NO! So please, please, please don’t put your coffee in the
freezer and definitely not the fridge.
The last tip is subjective and mainly depends on your coffee
consumption rate, but it’s pretty simple and it's to buy the right amount. Even
though we, at MF Coffee, have worked hard to create a coffee bag that will
maintain freshness longer than anyone else, you guys can simply make your lives easier by buying coffee in smaller doses. Extended
exposure to oxygen will diminish the coffees flavour meaning the longer you leave
our wonderful MF Coffee beans sitting in the bag, being wasted, the less you
will be able to experience that enticing and seductive taste that will simply
leave you yearning for more. To experience the best taste, you essentially “Don’t
buy more, just buy often” and you can do that at our website mfproducts.co.uk
where we have a coffee beans as well as grounded.
That’s it for todays blog guys, hope you enjoyed it.
