What is an Affogato coffee?

  • Rise and shine my MF Products Blog readers, it’s Saturday morning and I already know some you have your music blaring and your MF Coffee brewing. There’s nothing better than a delicious cup of MF Coffee in the morning and today, we’re looking to switch things up from your typical espresso or flat white in the morning. Last week we received an email from an MF Product fan who asked for us to talk about different coffee recipes, their origin and how they’re made. We thought it was a great idea and to start us off on this series we will be talking about the Affogato Coffee. So, sit back and relax and we delve into another wonderful recipe.

The affogato is a hot and cold delicacy available on many specialty coffee shop menus, as well as in restaurants. The affogato is a dessert that can be made with two core ingredients: vanilla ice cream and espresso brewed MF Coffee. Originally invented in Italy, the word “affogato” literally translates as “drowned” in English. This is humorously fitting, as the affogato is no more than a scoop of ice cream “drowned” in a waterfall of hot brewed MFCoffee.

The dessert is such a phenomenon there’s even debates as to how one should consume this treat, some argue it should melt so it can be served as a beverage others argue that it should be eaten with a spoon instantly after the MF Coffee is poured on top.

So, we know about the recipes origins, but I’m now sure all of you are bursting to find out how it’s made well here it is.

Ingredients:

-          1 shot of MF Coffee espresso

-          1 scoop of vanilla ice cream

-          1 amaretti biscuit

Method:

1)      Brew a shot of MF Coffee espresso

2)      Add a scoop (or two!) of ice cream into a bowl

3)      Pour over your shot of coffee

4)      Crumble your biscuit and sprinkle over the top

Quick. Easy. Tasty. It’s the affogato coffee and it’s a MF favourite. Thanks for reading.

How to make the MF Soursop smoothie.

Good evening MF Blog readers, we hope you all are staying active during this cold Christmas season. As the year draws to a close, MF Products still have a variety of tasty recipes to broadcast and this week we will be looking at how we can use our MF Soursop to make some delightful treats. Today we will be making our very own MF Soursop smoothie with bananas and almonds. We chose bananas due it’s alpha and beta carotene content when consumed by the body, this then turns in vitamin A. Bananas are also a good source of potassium and due to its low water content, it contains more calories and is more filling. This pairs wonderfully with the benefits of soursop (previously mentioned in another blog) as it; possesses antioxidants, fights against bacteria, and boosts the immune system. Almonds are also very beneficial as they contain unsaturated fats, fibre, magnesium as well as protein. When adding all three ingredients together, this is a very healthy smoothie that will help to ...

What is the best type of coffee?

Good evening my MF Product Blog readers, it’s been a while but we’re back with more content for you guys. Today, we saw a reader ask, “Out of all the different types of coffee, which one is the best?” and we believe it’s a great question. However, we also think that it depends on what you’re drinking for and that is what we will be investing in todays MF Blog . So, without further ado let’s get into this. A good cup of coffee is one that does whatever job it is that you assign it. Whether it be the most rank, percolated cup of coffee that you’re in dire need off for that extra boost or the most complex mocha made with MF Coffee that finesses your tongue with a touch of foam while you eat an olive shortbread. I know, fancy. The point is that there are so many variations of coffee to tickle your fancy. So, given that there are lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas the point this is that, while the ingredients are simple, the experience is not. There is nothing crazy about ordering a capp...
