Can coffee grounds be used for insects and pets?

Woah woah woah, don’t just throw those coffee grounds away! Did you know every year in the UK we waste 500,000 tonnes of coffee grounds, it’s quite ridiculous. At MF Products we have realised that coffee grounds have many practical uses other than for cooking and drinking. Used MF Coffee grounds can be used around the home and garden and can even help spruce up your beauty routine to help ensure you look ‘fab’.

We’ve previously mentioned the way how MF Products have used coffee grounds as fertiliser for their gardens so now it’s time to speak on what else coffee can do aside from being used for consumption. Many readers aren’t going to believe this however, MF Coffee grounds can be used surprisingly for your pets too. Now I know there are many questions and queries however it’s true. Coffee grounds can indeed be used for pets and insects. How? Let’s find out!

Fleas are a shared problem in household pets and treating them can be expensive and time-consuming (trust me, we know the struggle). There are several flea-elimination products on the market, but many contain punitive chemicals and can yield unsolicited side effects. Luckily, it’s been seen by the general public that coffee grounds seem to annoy fleas to the point where they don’t like it. Another use of coffee grounds for your pet that you may want to consider is using coffee grounds as a natural treatment. Simply massage the grounds throughout your pet’s fur after shampooing. Then rinse them off and allow your pet to dry as usual. Some say doing this may also add smoothness and shine to your pet’s coat. Although, coffee grounds may be less effective than a prescription product it is much cheaper to recycle old unused coffee grounds rather than paying for actual treatment when there’s solutions here at home.

Secondly and lastly, Certain compounds found in coffee, such caffeine and diterpenes, can be extremely toxic to insects and therefore will contribute in getting rid of bugs and creepy crawlies. MF Coffee grounds are effective at deterring mosquitos, fruit flies and beetles, and they may help keep other pests away too. To use coffee grounds as an insect and pest repellent, simply set out bowls of grounds or scatter them around outdoor seating areas. You can also keep pests out of your garden by scattering coffee grounds around your plants. This sprinkling technique can help create a barrier that slugs, and snails do not like to crawl over.

In conclusion MF Coffee grounds have the ability to be reused in more suitable fashions, especially after being wasted or going slightly out of date.

How to make the MF Soursop smoothie.

Good evening MF Blog readers, we hope you all are staying active during this cold Christmas season. As the year draws to a close, MF Products still have a variety of tasty recipes to broadcast and this week we will be looking at how we can use our MF Soursop to make some delightful treats. Today we will be making our very own MF Soursop smoothie with bananas and almonds. We chose bananas due it’s alpha and beta carotene content when consumed by the body, this then turns in vitamin A. Bananas are also a good source of potassium and due to its low water content, it contains more calories and is more filling. This pairs wonderfully with the benefits of soursop (previously mentioned in another blog) as it; possesses antioxidants, fights against bacteria, and boosts the immune system. Almonds are also very beneficial as they contain unsaturated fats, fibre, magnesium as well as protein. When adding all three ingredients together, this is a very healthy smoothie that will help to ...

What can coffee do for your skin?

Good morning everyone, welcome back to another edition of The MF Products Blog. Today we’re going to be looking at coffee and what it can do for you cosmetically. Specifically, the largest organ on your body. No, its not the liver. It’s in fact, the skin. Yes! The skin that’s all over your body is indeed an organ and since it’s everywhere we should take the most care with it. At least that’s what we think at MF Products .   Anyways, many people go through life having sensitive skin and they endure this treacherous and tedious search in trying to find that ‘special’ cream that will magically dispose of any breakouts or redness when really there’s a game changer right in front of them (not literally, but you get where I’m going with this). The truth is… MF Coffee has been the saviour this whole time. In fact, a study was published that showed that Japanese women between the ages of 30 to 60 who drank coffee had significantly less markers of aging. So that meant less wrinkles ...

How to make the MF Seamoss face mask.

Facecare is arguably the most underlooked aspect of self-care on the human body, ironically, it’s the most sensitive part too. As a result, a great deal of these products on the high street shelves claim to be good for the skin but in reality, are not. The chemicals and toxins inputted in these products are artificial and therefore struggle to benefit the skin. In fact, in most case scenarios, they make the skin worse. That’s why the MF team decided to create a facecare blog today because we care about not just our customers but society as a whole too. This, therefore, brings us to the creation of the MF Seamoss facemask. The contents inside sea moss are, of course, natural and healthy for the body. This means, if they’re healthy for the body, they must be healthy for the skin too. You will need: -           MF Seamoss gel (check out our previous blog on how to make that) -           Chlor...
