How do we cultivate coffee at MF PRODUCTS UK ?

At MF COFFEE UK, we tend to do things a little differently. Whilst many companies tend to stick to cheap and basic forms of coffee cultivation, due to the Jamaican Blue Mountains, our coffee is farmed so uniquely you’ll never want coffee from anywhere else again! The Blue Mountains serve as the highest peak in Jamaica and provide an ideal climate for growing high-quality coffee. A cool, misty climate with elevated level of rainfall precipitates soil that is incredibly moist and fertile. The reduced oxygen at an altitude of over 5,000ft produces a richer coffee bean, with plants growing slower than normal and therefore having a more concentrated flavour. We believe in creating and distributing the best coffee in the world and that’s it. Although the process is considerably extensive, when you take that first indulgent sip of MF COFFEE UK, you will addictively continue until before you know it, you’re on your next cup! The process in cultivating the coffee beans requires an extended level of fortitude that we are willing to endure for the end result in great tasting coffee.

It has taken generations upon generations for our special farmers to perfect the special MF COFFEE taste. This initially starts with the selection of special seeds in which they are then placed in pots individually. This allows the seeds to germinate and consequently mature after a couple of years. At MF COFFEE we will only collect the coffee beans from the tree when it is cherry ripe. Yes, cherry ripe. If its not cherry ripe we don’t want it! After we have picked the cherry ripe beans we must then determine which berries are defected and which ones are healthy. To do this we use a special water system. If the berries float then that means they’re not healthy, however if they sink then those berries are coming with us. These specially chosen berries then have their skin removed and their substance removed in order to be dried naturally for a minimum of 5 days. Not 3, not 4 but 5.  Due to the penetrating Jamaican sunlight these beans are fed with the beneficial nutrients and heat needed to achieve an incredible balance of taste amongst each individual bean.

The last process during the cultivation process is a stage called hulling. Hulling is where the outer shell of the seeds also known as the ‘husk’ to you coffee enthusiasts is removed. After the hulling, the beans are now called green beans, and are polished to remove a silver layer on the outer part of the beans. The beans are then handpicked and sorted out to a specification to identify defected beans.

So, in essence, the MF way is much more complex than the big corporations. Not because we believe in arcane approaches for the fun of it but purely because it makes our coffee that much pleasurable to drink. The way we cultivate is multifaceted but also purposeful and that’s what we believe at MF COFFEE. Satisfaction, efficiency, and pleasure.

Benefits of nutmeg

Good morning my MF Products Blog readers, today we’re going to be looking at the benefits of MF Nutmeg . Nutmeg is popularly known as Jatiphal and Jaiphal in India. It’s one of the oldest spices, like pepper and clove and it’s been cultivated for over 1000 years. Nutmeg is a spice made from the seed of Myristica fragrans, a tropical tree that is native to the Banda island of Indonesia but also commonly grown in the Caribbean and other tropical areas of the world such as the St John Parish in Jamaica. When it comes to the actual characteristics, the nutmeg seed is oval-shaped, about an inch long, slightly wrinkled, dark brown on the outside and light brown on the inside. For centuries nutmeg has been treasured for its flavour, aroma, and medicinal properties throughout the world.   In regard to MF Nutmegs taste, it’s something quite extraordinary. It possesses this sweet, spicy yet woody sensation. It’s almost as if Christmas comes early with MF Nutmeg. Did you know nutmeg has cooling
